DESCRIPTION Aircraft was destroyed during impact with terrain while maneuvering near Roswell, NM. The commercial pilot and one passenger sustained serious injuries, two passengers sustained fatal injuries. The local flight originated from the New Mexico State Police Office parking lot in Roswell, NM. The pilot had been conducting l-z training with the NM State Police. According to the NTSB report, the pilot climed to an altitude of 5500 feet msl. After selecting an lz, he turned northwest toward the area and initiated a descent. As the hl descended to about 150-200 feet agl, he initiated a rt turn into the wind. As the ac was turning, he realized the turn was too steep and tried to shallow the turn; the cyclic would not move. The helicopter came to rest 375 feet from the initial ground scar.
