		Patient on board.  

DESCRIPTION	While enroute from a scene, and while flying over 
		an airport, pilot detected smell of smoke in 
		cockpit (no visible smoke).  Pilot contacted 
		airport tower and made a precautionary landing 
		(normal approach and landing).  Patient was 
		transported by another aircraft. 

ADDITIONAL INFO	Maintenance discovered  a directional gyro 
		overheated causing the smell.
