Not a factor AIRCRAFT_TYPE BK 117 TAIL# N138HH TEAM Pilot, Nurse, RT. No injuries reported. No patient. DESCRIPTION While and in level flight en route to a scene call, a laminated map that was on the lap of the crewmember sitting in the left cockpit seat was sucked out of the window. Immediately thereafter, flight nurse heard a "thud" along side of aircraft at the same time a "door ajar" caution light activated in the cockpit (caused by the map coming in contact with the handle of the left side sliding door). Flight nurse checked sliding door and found it slightly ajar. Door was quickly secured. The pilot insured that all systems and controls were functioning properly. Flight continued without further incident. ADDITIONAL INFO Program contacted public information office in the event that phone calls from public were received. Discussions took place at post flight debriefing, subsequent shift briefings as well as crew management meetings. Note: Size of window at largest point of opening is approximately 10" by 10", window was half way open at the time of incident.
