DESCRIPTION	
	Incident occured during a check ride at Santa Rosa, CA Airport.  Chief
	Pilot was aboard as observer.  An emergency procedure was initiated
	that resulted in loss of the tail rotor and gearbox from the
	aircraft.  In spite of the loss of tail rotor control the pilots were
	able to land the aircraft.  Damage is apparent to the rear skid tube,
	tail boom and tail rotor drive components.
