Team: Advanced Life Support Team (EMT & EMT-Paramedic). No injuries reported. No patient. 

Description: 
	Carilion Patient Transportation Services(Roanoke Division) advanced
	life support ambulance was responding to a non-emergency transport
	request in Roanoke City, VA(no patient onboard).  While navigating a
	curve in the roadway, an oncoming vehicle lost control, hydroplaned,
	and struck the ambulance in the driver's side.  The ambulance
	attempted to take evasive action, however, due to the roadway was
	unable to avoid impact.  Both ambulance team members were wearing seat
	belts.  Neither the ambulance team or other driver were injured. 
	Significant damage was sustained to both vehicles.  
	
	The CPTS Communications Center activated the ground PAIP immediately
	upon notification of the incident. Carilion Patient Transportation
	Safety Officer and Division Manager responded to the scene.  

Additional Info: 
	The driver of the vehicle that struck the ambulance was charged with
	reckless driving.
