[Date Prev][Date Next][Date Index] Good Samaritan Hospital EMS - CCT Non-injury incidentDate: 03/25/2008 2200 CST Program: Good Samaritan Hospital EMS 31st & Central Kearney, Nebraska Model: Ford, MedTech Type: Type III Weather: Clear. Not a factor Road: Clear Team: Paramedic, EMT, Nurse. No injuries reported. Description: While en route to transport a cardiac patient from Callaway Hospital to Good Samaritan Hospital a deer entered the ambulance's path from the left side. The driver applied the brakes and slowed the ambulance from 60 mph to ~ 50 mph. The deer struck the center grill and right front quarter panel. No occupants were injured. Airbags did not deploy. Dispatch was immediately contacted and another ambulance was sent to complete the transport. The ambulance was drivable and was returned to the garage. It is awaiting repair.
