[Date Prev][Date Next][Date Index] Good Samaritan Hospital EMS - CCT Non-injury incidentDate: 5/22/2008 0956 CST Program: Good Samaritan Hospital EMS 31 & Central Kearney, NE 68848 Model: Ford MedTec Type: Type III Weather: Raining Road: Wet Team: Driver, Paramedic, Patient. No injuries reported. Patient on board. Description: Ambulance was north bound in the inside lane in the 2800 block of 2nd Avenue, a light protected intersection, and was driving with emergency lights and siren activated. Patient was on board being transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. Pickup entered intersection from the west at the same time north bound traffic was given a green light. Pickup then saw ambulance an attempted to speed up to get out of way, ambulance also swerved to the right. Ambulance struck pickup in the L rear bumper. Paramedic in back was in the process of giving report, was unrestrained, and upon the impact was knocked to the floor. Patient was restrained on cot. A 2nd ambulance was immediately dispatched to the scene. Patient transport was continued to Good Samaritan Hospital. No injuries reported. Additional Info: After investigation by Kearney Police Department the driver of pickup was cited.
