Not a factor Team: Pilot, FN, FN. No injuries reported. No patient. Description: Today at 1209, a CALSTAR crew experienced a loss of anti-torque control as they brought the aircraft to a hover at the Salinas, CA base when returning from a mission. No injuries were reported. The pilot executed a hovering autorotation resulting in damage to the skid crosstubes. Maintenance will look for further damage, if any, when the incident investigation has been completed. The loss of anti-torque control was caused by the failure of the thruster cone control rod. As of this time, all CALSTAR MD902 aircraft are grounded until further notice pending an inspection of the control rods.
