Suite 110 Seattle WA 98108 Type: Agusta 109E Tail #: N951AL Operator/Vendor: Air Methods Corperation Weather: Clear. Not a factor Team: Pilot, Flight nurse and Flight nurse. No injuries reported. No patient. Description: At 20:00 on October 7, 2008 Airlift 2 was en route to an area hospital experienced a bird strike to the main rotor blade. The pilot aborted the flight and returned back to base at Boeing Field in Seattle. The aircraft was taken into the hanger for inspection by the base mechanic and was cleared and placed back into service. All of the flight crew was flying with their helmet visors down.
