POB 768 West Plains, MO 65775 Type: Bell 206 L1 Tail #: N133AE Operator/Vendor: Own Part 135 Weather: Clear. Not a factor Team: Pilot, flight nurse, flight paramedic. No injuries reported. No patient. Description: Air Evac crewmembers were preparing for departure after dropping off a patient at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. While a medical crewmember was in the process of securing the aircraft, and just prior to engine start, a blast of rotor wash from another program?s aircraft forced the door out of the medical crewmember?s hand. The door was forced past its normal open limit, rotating a full 180 degrees and breaking the right front door window (pilot?s door). Additional Info: Air Evac maintenance personal inspected and repaired aircraft, allowing it to return to base. The approaching aircraft was a BK117, which was landing at an adjacent helipad to drop-off the medical crew. The BK117 flew within approximately 50 feet of the parked aircraft?s tail rotor.
