Not a factor Team: Pilot, Flight Nurse and Paramedic. No injuries reported. Patient on board. Description: In cruise flight during an interfacility transfer, midway to the receiving hospital, the transmission chip caution light illuminated. The pilot diverted to a nearby airport and contacted company comm center on descent. A company fixed wing aircraft was immediately dispatched with the on-call A&P mechanic to rendezvous. Patient and crew were transferred to the fixed wing aircraft and patient flight resumed without further incident to service in a back-up aircraft. Additional Info: Inspection of the lower transmission chip detector revealed insignificant debris. The aircraft was returned to service.
