[Date Prev][Date Next][Date Index] Guardian Air Transport - Non-injury incidentDate: 12/22/2009 0248 PST Program: Guardian Air Transport Type: Bell 407 Tail #: N407AM Operator/Vendor: Air Methods Corp. Weather: Windy Team: Pilot, Nurse, Paramedic. No injuries reported. Patient on board. Description: N407AM was transporting a patient from Kingman, AZ to Las Vegas, NV. While flying over a mountainous area south of Las Vegas, the aircraft encountered severe wind shear. The aircraft lost significant altitude and its direction of flight was altered. The pilot was able to stabilize the aircraft quickly and decided to make a precautionary landing at Las Vegas? McCarran Airport, rather than at the hospital destination. The crew was unharmed as well as the patient. The patient was delivered safely to the hospital by ground ambulance with the Guardian Air Crew aboard.
