LifeFlight of Maine - Non-injury incident

Team: Pilot. No injuries reported. No patient. 

Description: 
	Pilot was in process of relocating aircraft from base hospital in
	Lewiston to airport for maintenance. A 25 year old male walking along
	the rear of the helipad suddenly climbed security fence and ran
	towards the aircraft, approaching from the rear and opened the rear
	door and entered the aircraft while pilot was preparing for departure
	operations. Pilot observed cabin door warning light, heard rear door
	closing, and noticed individual in rear of aircraft. Pilot immediately
	shut aircraft down and escorted male from aircraft to meet responding
	security personnel. Security personnel detained individual and
	notified Lewiston PD who took individual into custody.

Additional Info: 
	The helipad is directly behind the hospital adjacent to parking lots
	and is surrounded by a 6? fence and locked gates. There has not been
	any unauthorized entry previously. The helipad is under constant video
	surveillance which captured the incident. 
	
	Administration at hospital and EraMED were immediately notified.
	Hospital Security and Facility /Engineering Departments were notified
	of the security breech. Additional methods of security have been
	implemented and further security measures are under review by
	hospital, EraMED, and Lifeflight staff.
